The after-school program takes place at Riverdale Equestrian Center in Riverdale, New York. This spacious equestrian center is conveniently located in Van Cortlandt Park just minutes from Manhattan's Upper West Side. Riverdale Equestrian Center is proud to be home to Olympic and national champions. This beautiful facility caters to all levels of riders. Its indoor arena, Olympic-sized outdoor dressage arena and jumping ring, hunter field, and a smaller ring for less advanced students, along with its turnout paddocks, makes this Center one of a kind. It is not uncommon to see people having their very first riding lesson in one ring while in another someone is getting ready for the Hampton Classic or an International dressage competition. Riverdale Equestrian Center is truly unique! These programs have been designed to be both educational and fun. Students participate in a ninety-minute lesson where they are grouped according to their ability and level of experience. Activities include lessons in riding, grooming, stable management and horse care. Children are picked up at certain locations, transported to the stables by a private bus service provided by the Center, and returned to their homes at the end of the day. As you will notice on the application form, we offer pick-ups at several Manhattan schools. If your child does not attend one of the listed schools, it is possible for her or him to participate by meeting the bus at one of these locations at the designated time. Sessions are offered in Fall, Winter, and Spring, meeting weekly for 10 consecutive weeks. The cost of each 10-week session is $650.00 which includes transportation. The cost for students not requiring transportation is $465. The goal of our program is to make horseback riding a memorable experience. Each child is sure to make great new friends, build confidence, measurably improve his or her riding skills, and gain a deeper respect and love for animals. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
